Explore Our Strategic Planning Process

If your company is one of the 70% of companies that try to do Strategic Planning and fail, then we need to talk. Below is our 4 step process to make your company come away with a competitive advantage to succeed.

  • Planning the Strategic Retreat

Most of the time when we ask participants what they want most out of their sessions they tell us "Clarity".

Common themes are; Where are we headed? What does success look like and how do we measure it? Who will do what by when and how will we hold each other accountable? How many priorities should we have and who decides what are our priorities? Is everyone truly aligned?

We want to make sure that by the end of the retreat that everyone is aligned on the organization's strategies, action plans and measurable results. Be assured that the commitment by leadership at all future meetings and decisions going forward are driven by the goals set at the strategic planning session.

  • Needs Analysis for Strategy Sessions

Step 2 is to meet with the Executive Team and determine what are the objectives of the company, the mission and the values to drive towards a 3 year plan vs. 1 year plan.

We will meet with each executive one on one, and determine what are their top 3 objectives they want to achieve for their department. In addition, attending at least 1-2 executive team meetings gives us much needed context to prepare a successful session.

We will then conduct a team assessment and review the results as a first step at the retreat.

  • Develop Custom Strategic Curriculm

The curriculm is dependent on the size of the company and the number of participants that will be attending the retreat.

With executive sessions, we usually see less than 10 participants and is typically 2 to 3 days. We will determine the desired outcomes and required number of break out sessions and topics to achieve the desired results. We have also included the next layer of leadership as part of an aligment session.

We will work with your company to find a venue to avoid distractions, preferably a place within driving distance, accomodations, food and social events before and after the planning sessions.

  • Lead, Facilitate and Coach the Retreat

The retreat is where the fun begins and the magic happens. Strap in and hold on for a courageous journey of self-exploration and team results.

Now that we have a clear understanding of the desired objectives to be achieved, we will facilitate a lively journey of exploration, discussion, and yes much debate! Collectively as we re-prioritize your course of action, prepare deliverables with assigned task masters and ensure full committment from the leadership team we will drive business success.

Post the Strategic Planning Session, HR Equity will deliver a summary of the topics, sessions results, strategic objective templates, action plans and discuss the ongoing execution strategy to ensure you will meet your goals and objectives.

People don't hate Performance Management, they hate when Performance Management doesn't drive Performance.
